for SUPERMARKETS
Supermarkets use bags on the expense side and
the retail side.
The expense side includes:
in-store produce bags
These are important because a well-run Produce dept. is
the key profit center in the store. Improving the Produce-shopper's
experience means shoppers will go with fresh over frozen/canned,
and the store profits will benefit.
Bad produce bags are
a source of considerable frustration. That's why shoppers
waste so many bags. It's also why some have learned that
rubbing an uncooperative bag between two tomatoes helps get
it open. At
least
this is better
than
shoppers spitting on their fingers because the bags fight
back.
Using SNAP™ bags for Produce will improve the shopper's
experience, increase Produce sales, and improve the Store's
bottom line.
Even the savings in wasted bags are enough to justify a
switch to SNAP™. Wastage of Produce and Bakery
bags is estimated in the region of 10%. As it costs much
less than 10% to switch to SNAP™, the improvement
to the bottom line is instant, immediate. All the
other benefits (improved Produce sales, increased Store
loyalty, improved hygiene) are a bonus. That bonus also talks
to the bottom line.
It's a no-brainer. In fact, if you can show us where we
have failed to make this case, we'll give you (provided you
otherwise qualify) a 90-day License at zero percent, i.e.
free.
in-store checkout bags
Where your employees handle loose bags, you can improve
their workflow, work satisfaction, and efficiency by giving
them the tools to do their job better. If the bags don't
fight back, they save time, you save money.
The retail side includes:
...all manner of single-use
bags for home use: kitchen catchers, trash, laundry, storage,
sandwich,
freezer, etc.
Many of these are subject to the well-known
problem of being hard to get open. Ask a few consumers, or
just ask yourself.
Once shoppers learn that there are bags that won't fight back,
that will cooperate, that will open "first time, every
time"™, their latent demand for a better
product will become explicit demand. Recognition of
the SNAP™ logos as indicators of bags that work
properly will guide this demand to products that meet it.
Licensees' products
will then begin to rapidly displace non-Licensees' products.
Licensees will absorb market share from those who do not
adopt innovation.
The supermarket will therefore improve its profits by handling
SNAP™ superior products.
